The E Word

This is more of a short update on my status than a real post, but it's important enough to get attention on its own. Actually, this status has technically been active for exactly two months, today: I'M ENGAGED! ...to the sweetest and most fun-loving girl in the world. :] So it's sappy, get over it!

The lowdown: I proposed on the 30th of January when we went up to Pennsylvania with some friends to go snowboarding, the first of the season. I didn't tell anyone there of my plan, but I held close to the small box with the ring, remembering how I had recently called her parents with the news that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with their daughter. One of my friends had brought a camera, as he so often does, so I told him that I wanted him to get a video of me "doing something to Jasmin at the top of the mountain," and I'd give him a signal when the time was right.

After all, whats more romantic than proposing at the top of a mountain?

So we finally made it to the top of one of the bigger slopes in the early afternoon, and before we boarded down I told Jasmin I wanted to talk to her about something. This was it! My friend, instead of being off to the side where it would have been a little less obvious, stood right in front of us to take a video, so Jasmin knew something was up. >.< But I ignored it and popped the question. She took the ring, and... accepted! lol The rest is history.

It was a couple months before that when I was talking to some friends and realized that the only thing that was really preventing me from proposing to her right then, after being in a relationship for nearly 2 years, was money to pay for the ring. So one of my friends offered to cover it, and that was that. Jasmin had already given more than enough clues to be able to pick out the perfect ring, and it was a matter of finding one that just looked nice as a whole. I love her more than anything, and can't imagine continuing my life without her. We're young, but so what? All those experiences that life has yet to give us, all those changes we'll probably go through over the years, we'll tackle them as a couple. After all, that's what love is about, right?

The wedding probably won't be for a couple years at least. Now that I have an actual job (oh yeah, maybe I didn't mention that?), we can really start to save up hardcore. It's also going to be on Guam, so if you expect to be invited I'd say start saving for a plane ticket. haha

From here on out, Jasmin will be referred to as my fiance in the blog, and I don't want you guys to get confused. lol That's all for now, see ya guys.
